Baz Bus only collects and drops off passengers from backpacker hostels that are on the Hostel List. Accommodation costs vary from hostel to hostel.

Ticket Information

This package consists of a Hop-on Hop-off ticket from Cape Town to Johannesburg or Pretoria (alternatively start from Johannesburg or Pretoria), a 4 day Kruger National Park Wildlife Safari tour plus 3 "must do" day tours along the route. With your Hop-on Hop-off ticket, you decide where you want to stay along the route and how long you want to stay for. The 3 day tours include a visit to a Zulu village in Durban; a Township experience in Port Elizabeth and a scenic trip around the stunning Cape Peninsula in Cape Town. Minimum recommended travel time is 17 days but you can take as long as you want!

An additional R80 Fuel Levy will be added to all ticket prices over R700.

» 4 DAY KRUGER NATIONAL PARK WILDLIFE SAFARI TOUR

Experience game viewing at its best in the Kruger National Park and surrounds. It is one of the few places on earth where wildlife can be seen in such great variety and at such close quarters. Spot the BIG 5 (Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Elephant and Buffalo). Open vehicle game drives give you excellent photographic opportunities. The tour also covers the picturesque Mpumalanga area and includes a stop to view the Three Rondawels and the amazing Blyde River Canyon.

This half day tour takes you into the township of Port Elizabeth. Qualified local guides will be with you explaining the social history, the harsh reality of our Apartheid past and the great successes of the present. Meet talented township artists at work, visit a community-run school or a shebeen (township version of the local pub in the heart of the shanty town).

» CAPE PENINSULA DAY TOUR

This is a really fun way to see the Cape Peninsula. Enjoy guided commentary, fabulous scenic cycling and easy hiking. Cruise through Camps Bay beach surrounded by the 12 Apostles. Visit the harbour of Hout Bay (Optional Seal Island trip-definitely recommended). Take in the breathtaking views along Chapman's Peak drive (subject to road conditions). Meet the Penguins at Simon's Town and end up at the scenic Cape Point Nature Reserve for your exhilarating cycle. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch and a leisurely stroll to the South-Western most point of Africa.

Bring your own sleeping bag along for the 4 day Kruger National Park Wildlife Safari tour or hire one at R80 directly from the safari company. You also have the option to upgrade to bedded accommodation by paying R1000 directly to your tour guide.

Our buses only run during the day i.e. they leave Cape Town in the morning and arrive in Port Elizabeth in the evening.

Overnight Stops: Port Elizabeth and Durban are compulsory overnight stopovers.

Shuttle Service: Some of the locations shown on the map are only accessible through the use of Shuttle Services which link to our route. Shuttle Services run independently to Baz Bus and need to be pre-arranged by the traveller. Shuttle costs are payable directly to the hostel offering the service.
